The Bodacious Beauty of the Month - January 2012

The Bodacious Beauty of The Month Beauty Salon Boulder, Colorado

My first experience with The Bodacious Beauty was a DiamondTome Microdermabrasion with DeAnn.  I was instantly drawn to her bubbly and fun personality!  I left feeling beautiful, even with no makeup on. My skin was already glowing and felt better after just one treatment. I also fell in love with the D’Lauren Cosmetics mineral makeup and PCA Skin products I got, and am now a religious user of them all!  The immediate improvements I have seen in my skin, and DeAnn's lovely personality, are what keep me coming back for more.  I'm hooked!

The most important thing I have learned from The Bodacious Beauty is that a good skincare routine is essential for healthy skin.  It needs to be done very routinely!  I use the face wash, lotions and makeup on a day to day basis, and then do 1 to 2 monthly microderms or facials to maintain my new and beautiful skin.

As client of The Bodacious Beauty, I have had the DiamondTome Microdermabrasion and the HydraFacial, both of which are wonderful and left my skin glowing!  I also use the PCA Skin face wash, clear skin cream, sunscreen, the D’Lauren Reparative Cream and mineral foundation.

My favorite female icon would have to be Sophia Loren.  This is not only because I was named after her, but because she is the epitome of a strong, beautiful woman, who has always remained classy and looks amazing even at 77!!! Talk about great skin, that lady has it!

The Bodacious Beauty of The Month Beauty Salon Boulder, ColoradoMy favorite quote is, "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t, then it was never meant to be."

My inspirational story: I am a 26 year old single mother of a beautiful 2 ½  year-old little boy.  I have done it on my own since he was an infant. It's not easy, and it's not how I envisioned my life would be, but I wouldn't change any of it for the world!  I work hard to provide the best life I can for my son, and I've been able to provide a loving and safe home for him.

If you put your mind to something, you can do it, don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't! You are your own best motivator, and with hard work and determination, you can live the life you want and make an impact on those around you.

The Bodacious Beauty of the Month - October 2011

By DeAnn Grasinger, Owner and Founder of The Bodacious Beauty in Boulder, Colorado.

Tina Adler

I met the beautiful Tina Adler in September of 2010 at her daughter’s birthday party. Never in a million years would I have thought that she was sick. She looked so healthy, and had such a bubbly and joyful personality.

Bodacious Beauty of The MonthBut then again, what does Cancer’s face really look like?

Tina was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in February of that year. After being diagnosed, Tina gracefully entered into the fight of her life. From the beginning of our friendship, Tina and I adored each other. It was after I got more familiar with her story that I realized what a remarkable woman she really is.

The most interesting quality about Tina in this run for her life, so to speak, is the amazing calmness and peace to her aura. While at a chemo appointment with her (which was an eye-opening experience in itself), Tina was able to give me her complete and undivided attention. She actually took it upon herself to make our visit almost like a therapy session for me! I’m not really sure how she did that, but it made me look at my entire life and how much there is to be grateful for. One of Tina’s favorite quotes she told me that day, is “The juice ain’t worth the squeeze.” WOW ….this little saying made me think twice about a lot of things in my life.

The Bodacious Beauty Boudoir BoutiqueI am a true believer that God brings people into our lives for reasons. We have the choice to accept everyone we encounter as a gift and opportunity to learn, or to deny them and therefore miss out on this gift. Tina has shown me that life has to be taken by storm and sucked dry, because the moment is all we have.

Losing my father suddenly three years ago left me with so many questions about life, about people, and about dying. I truly feel that because of my experience with losing someone so close to me, I have been able to give Tina insight about what the other side might look like and how to prepare her family for her departing. In return, she has given me so much insight about how to live in the present.

beauty-of-the-month-3.jpgI think we both agree that the way in which God is allowing her to say goodbye, although it is still so hard, might be an easier way to say goodbye to our loved ones.

Her strength, determination to live, her grace, and her love for every person she has touched, makes her so beautiful from the inside out. She is Remarkable, Bold and Unmistakable…She truly IS a Bodacious Beauty in every sense of the word. She has made crystal clear the reason she came in my life, and for that I thank her with all my heart.

Though her battle is getting more difficult every day, she was able sit down with me and discuss this article about her. We sat together, and we cried together, and we pondered all the reasons why God has brought us into each other’s lives, and I have written about only a fraction of these reasons.

As of the time of publishing, Tina is still with us. To find out more about how you can help her cause, her family, or to just be a part of this magnificent human being, please visit her Caring Bridge blog at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tinaadler.

Bodacious Beauty of The Month“Do not wait to show love and speak love, and see the blessings all around you. Do not wait to say "I love you‟. Do not wait to open your heart to those whom you treasure. Being diagnosed with terminal cancer, I realized I may have waited too long and time is running out. I am taking so many meds, just to see one more day. It sounds like a cliché, but live each day as your last. Inspire others to do the same. Fight for what you love, and love unconditionally what you are fighting for. God won't build a mountain you can't climb.”
